Art in the open air: Een dijk van een kust
In the summers of the years to come, a Dijk van een Kust will create a route consisting of art work that leads from the former sea dike in Waterland in the province Noord-Holland to the Markermeer lake. This year, the route titled ‘Windstilte’ (Silent Wind) will run along the unique landscape between Durgerdam and Etersheim from June 18th through August 16th 2010. The (inter)national artists will use their work to reflect on the history of the landscape and the role of the dike in this context. Some artworks are prominently and visibly present in the landscapes, other artworks are predominantly audible.
