Olivino Mediterranean Delights: a culinary surprise!
For many of you Olivino, since the charming shop opened its doors in 2010, has become a familiar address for your regular Mediterranean shopping in the Statenkwartier. Olivino is a true hidden gem for those of you who love to cook good Mediterranean food with proper and pure ingredients. Olivino has already proven to be a great addition to the shopping possibilities around the Frederik Hendriklaan.
The beautiful assortment of delicatessen ranges from fresh cut meats, salamis and cheeses, Patés, Rillettes, Confits de canard, Cassoulet, many extra virgin olive oils and (Balsamic) vinegars from the barrel, the very best and award winning Balsamico de Modena (Giuseppe Giusti) ranging from 1 - 5 medals, many types of pasta and everything you need create a tasty dish. At Olivino you will find everything you expect in a high quality delicatessen shop.
When we visited Olivino, the fresh black truffles and Panettones from Italy just arrived. This shows that Olivino adjusts its assortment when possible to get the best of each country and season throughout the year.
The extra virgin olive oils (coming a.o. from France, Italy, Spain and Greece), which are tapped straight from the barrel, are mainly self imported and come straight from the olive grower. This self import gives Olivino the opportunity to keep their prices very competitive. Many of the products in the shop can be tasted to make sure that you make the right choice for your need and taste.
Olivino has also become a familiar name for culinary gifts. Beautifully packed gift baskets for every budget, theme and taste can be tailor-made and you can rely on getting good advice from the owners.
With the Christmas season around the corner Olivino has anticipated with beautiful culinary gifts as well as wooden Wine boxes which can be filled with every which wine, Prosecco or maybe even Champagne you prefer.

In our opinion Olivino is definitely worth a visit from everybody who enjoys Mediterranean food and wine. Olivino is located at the corner of the Van Loostraat and Jacob Gillesstraat, just a 100 meters from the Aert van der Goesstraat, and some 50 meters from the Frederik Hendrikplein.
Olivino is open from Tuesday till Saturday from 10.00 until 18.00 hrs (Saturdays until 17.00 hrs). Parking is free.
