A damn hot night in summer! The cowboy hats and boots are out again: Wild Rooster is back! The free roots music festival in The Hague with only good rockabilly, americana, bluegrass, uptempo blues and rock'n'roll from the time when rock'n'roll was still rock'n'roll.

YEEEEHAAA, we're allowed again! The annual, free country/rockabilly festival in the heart of the city is back with a summer edition, of course with a mouth-watering barbecue menu. On 3 stages around the Grote Markt it will be nice and sweaty honkytonken again with a dazzling line up. As soon as it is dark, the fire pits are lit and during the Wild Rooster Festival it becomes one big 'burning ring of fire' with generous portions of BBQ food.

About Wild Rooster Festival

The Wild Rooster Festival is a free city festival in The Hague with only good rockabilly, bluegrass, uptempo blues and rock'n'roll from the time when rock'n'roll was still rock'n'roll. The festival has existed for more than 10 years and has become a permanent place for lovers of everything that has to do with country, rockabilly and americana. In addition to the successful summer editions, the winter edition has also become a real 'fear of missing out' edition where it is difficult not to go along with the honkytonk atmosphere.

3 venues

Bands will perform on two stages at popstage De Zwarte Ruiter and the carousel stage in the middle of the Grote Markt. Visitors can order traditional Southern food and plant-based variations. The line up features respected names from the roots music scene. As with the winter festival, entrance is free.

Grote Markt

The Hague The Grote Markt is one of the nicest parts of The Hague. The atmosphere on the Grote Markt is always friendly and the nightlife crowd is usually creative and quirky. On the square in the middle of the city there are various catering establishments that offer something for everyone: from brown café to cocktail bar, from pop stage to restaurant. In addition, the Grote Markt also bears the label 'Popdistrict'. Live concerts take place all year round under this name, organized in collaboration with pop venue PAARD.
